A garden begins long before the first seed goes into the ground.
It begins with the soil we tend through winter, the water we learn to hold onto, and an understanding of the place we call home.
We’re excited to host Nick Pusztai for the first class in a four-part permaculture series rooted in the high desert. Across 2026–2027, we’ll explore what it means to grow here, with our short seasons, dry summers, cold nights, and all the possibility in between.
This first gathering focuses on conserving water, nurturing microbial life over winter, building fertile soil, and stretching Central Oregon’s growing season.
Come for one class, or follow the seasons with us through all four. Bring your questions, your garden ambitions, and a little curiosity about what’s happening beneath your feet. You will get dirty as this is a hands on class. Take home recipes and a beautiful amount of knowledge.
